This business, and their people embody everything great about The Town. Fantastic people, great designs, and great quality. I catch up once a month with them at First Fridays, and at this point I have at least 5 items from Oakland's Own. I always love the chats with the people there, and find awesome stuff. Support your local businesses! Absolutely love this hoodie! The fit is great, super soft and absolutely love the embroidery on the front. Great service, super helpful in finding my size and the color scheme I was looking for.

Bought a really cute hat to display my Oakland pride! I was just thinking how badly we needed a shop with local apparel and then stumbled upon this gem in the neighborhood. The woman working was very helpful and kind - I’ll be back!

Black owned clothing store. Owner very personable and friendly. Great products, vibrant colors, lots of options. I did ask for child sizes for my kids.

Amazing place with amazing people! Their new location is on Piedmont. My parents had placed a pickup order for me to go pick up, but unfortunately some items were out of stock as they get set up in their new store. The man and woman in there helped me figure out what works best for me, let me try on various outfits and gave advice, asked me what kinds of design I like and I found everything I wanted and more! I got a unique puffer jacket, a Oakland poppy flower hat (an ode to the piedmont Rose Garden), and a Pac Man Oakland t-shirt. I walked out of the shop with a smile I couldn't get off my face if I tried. Thanks so much to the team at Oakland's Own and may your new location prosper!! 💖

I’m so proud of Oakland’s Own!! My brother put me own to the brand when they were strictly vending at farmers markets and local events with their headquarters on Fruitvale years ago. It’s our families favorite local Black-owned apparel brand nowadays and every Christmas believe there’s a new fresh Oakland’s Own hat or hoodie or leathers-man jacket in the mix for every member! I have almost all his old school hats and after today, I’m gonna need the V2’s!! I just swung by the new spot and WOW. I’m gonna go back and make videos and take pictures of the shop because their gear has DRIP (it’s fresh, raw, clean, lit, fire, bomb, tha-sh**), you get it. Their designs always push the boundaries and include the diversities of Oakland for locals in a really real way. The owners are easy to talk with, have extremely welcoming energy, and they will accommodate you to the moon and back to be SURE you love what you own. It feels good to invest in a company that clearly LOVES what they do. Shop here often. I never knew the owner had a storefront on Piedmont Avenue until I saw it while waiting for AC#12. I have been seeing him as a pop up vendor in the Jack London Square on Sundays. Specialties: clothing for all ages - men, women, children. Assortment of baseball caps. I bought a purple one from with the oak tree in gold. Caption is Oakland's Own. Purple and gold are my school colors - Oakland Tech. He's the man when you want to "rep" Oakland wearing his merchandise.

This business goes above and beyond for customers. Years ago when they were at their old location, an OUSD high school student of mine was interested in clothing design and small business. My husband liked this brand, so my student and I reached out to Oakland’s Own’s owner. Right away, he was receptive, warm, and encouraging. We’ve since bought shirts and a jacket for ourselves and family. More recently, I ordered kids’ clothing. They communicated a restock delay and EVEN BROUGHT IT TO ME to make sure I could gift it in time to out of town family. I can’t recommend this business enough. And everything we’ve ordered has always been fire. The designs are hella unique and consistently great quality. Plus it’s run by good folks! Thank you Oakland’s Own.
